Keep It Rolling Brass Band

KIRBB

The Keep It Rolling Brass Band (KIRBB for short) is a young, talented group of musicians from New Orleans, Louisiana. The band was founded in 2017 while the members were still in high school. They cut their chops the same way as most of the legendary brass bands of the past 50 years: by putting in time playing in storied locales like Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, the French Market, and Frenchmen Street. Playing for the city’s visitors in the Quarter, they soon developed a repertoire of songs that spans generations. In addition to the standard brass band songs that visitors to the city have come to expect, they play everything from Bobby Womack’s “Across 110th Street” to Mario’s “Let Me Love You.” Their professional success came quickly when they made their second-line debut at the Big 7 Social Aid and Pleasure Club’s 2018 parade and were subsequently cast as the featured brass band in Ciara’s music video for her 2019 single “Dose.” Since then, they’ve done brand partnerships with Nike and Under Armour. As the band has continued to work on their craft, they’ve added originals to their catalog that have become part of their signature sound. When you hear “Walker Like a Dog,” “Powerhouse,” or “Bourbon,” you can be sure you’re getting the well-honed sounds of the Keep It Rolling Brass Band. With plans to soon put their music on wax, audiences can rest assured that Keep It Rolling Brass Band will stay true to their name by continuing to push the brass band tradition forward.
